It was the super’s turn agree. ‘Ah, yes. At best they don’t make easy reading, then this happens to a friend.

Context: The plot is occurring At Greenborough (fictional), east of England. Detective Inspector Nikki is discussing a suicidal case with her superintendent (super).

Does the sentence in bold sound natural to you? To my ears, ‘It was the super’s turn to agree’ would sound natural. Why was ‘to’ omitted?
