Hello, everyone.

Coul You please tell me what this sentence precisely means, and where does it come from (which novel, movie, whatever...) ? And when is it used ?
I found many uses for this phrase :
'It's a fair cop, guv'nor. You got bang me to rights.'
'It's a fair cop, guv'nor. Slap on the bracelets.' Etc.

My guess : C'est une arrestation en bonne et due forme, m'sieur.
