Bonjour,

Americans use the related term "concession stand" to refer to the place that sells snacks, souvenirs, etc. at, for example, a sports stadium, or concert venue. But you are correct in saying that the verb "concede' and its synonyms don't work in this context in English, either.

The customer could say: I'll take two magazines.....
Or: I'll take these two magazines, please.
(If she is already holding them.)

As a Briton, I'd probably say: I'd like these two magazines, please.

Was this conversation overheard, or did you see it in writing?
If it was overheard, perhaps the person really said something like "Je prends ces deux magazines..."

    Bonjour,
Hélas, I fell into the trap of the closed caption on youtube one more time.
There is a great likelihood for it to be "Je prends ces deux magazines...". I can't find that clip anymore
Merci à vous toutes et tous.
