Jesus *don't want me for a sunbeam. Why?

    Hi everyone.

    There's a song covered by Nirvana with the title "Jesus doesn't want me for a sunbeam".

    But I think the lead singer sings "Jesus don't want me for a sunbem".

    It's slang. It's not correct or academic but it's more how people speak.

    "Doesn't" is the grammatically correct way but "don't" gets used even though it's wrong in speech.

    Another reason is that "don't" is shorter and easier to say so it might sound better or be easier to be sung.
