Juez Multicompetente

Senior Member
Hi there!

I am working on a document out of Ecuador and just came across this term: Juez Multicompetente.

I have no idea how to translate it. The only thing that comes to mind is that "multicompetente" might refer to the judge being able to preside over different courts such as civil, family, juvenile courts. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Could it possibly be "General Jurisdiction Judge"??

    Hi, again,
they are judges assigned to rural areas where they are charged with varied jurisdictional competencies and skills. Your first inclination is correct.
