Keep it to/for myself

Dear Sirs,

Which one is appropriate in your opinion: "keep something to myself" or "keep something for myself"? Could it be that both are possible?

Example: "I'd rather keep it to/for myself!"

Thank you in advance.

It depends on the context. To 'keep something to myself' means keeping a secret, or not telling someone something. To 'keep something for myself' means having something and not letting anyone else use it.
