-Should I tie my hair in a ponytail?
    - Oh no dear! Just keep it loose/ hung loose/ hanging loose over your shoulder. You are not going to an interview. It's a party!

What is right between the three options?

I'd expect: Just leave it loose.

"leave" is good, as Barque says. "keep" will pass, also ("keep it loose").

Other terms are to wear your hair up (in a chignon, bun, ponytail, etc.) or down (loose).

If I really had to, I'd say 'Just leave it loose'.

(But what I would naturally say is something like 'It's up to you. I'm not your master.' or, 'I'll leave it to you. What do I know about hair? :))
