"We estimated that each kilogram of fertilizer not applied results in a loss of about 7 kg in cereal yield."

What I'm trying to say is that farmers lose 7 kg in potential yields per each kg of fertilizers they fail to apply. Is the structure in bold grammatically correct? The use of past participle after the noun seems off, although I can't think of any rules that prohibit it. Thanks!

I would say "We estimate(d) that for each kilogram of fertilizer that was not applied there is a loss of about 7 kg in cereal yield."

There's nothing "wrong" with the original but it may be clearer to use the above.
