    My apologies, my Oxford dictionary gave me 'sea leopard' and it seemed to be used in a zoological context on Google, so I drew hasty conclusions I guess. :eek:

    Here is the definition from the Free English Dictionary, so it seems that indeed both terms can be used. I would tend to believe from both this definition and the one in Wiki that 'leopard seal' is more specific and refers to a particular species whereas 'sea leopard', more commonplace and thus less scientific, encompasses more different species.
    But this is the limit of what I understand in zoology. :eek:
