Okay, obviously it is not to be translated literally. Do you think it would be something like 'the tree that hides the forest'? I presume that if something is the 'leaf that hides the radish' it s something which takes our attention away from the important matter at hand. ??? Help!

    I never heard this expression before, but I like it very much :) and my guess is that it means the same as what you have thought.

    I just wanted to add something, we have also a similar expression to the one of "the tree that hides the forest": "Los árboles no dejan ver el bosque"
