Hello,
How could "plus ou moins " be translated here?

La plante est plus ou moins commune en France.

"More or less" seems odd.

The plant is commonly found in France?

Thankyou.

Some plants are more or less common in some regions and uncommon in others
more or less common depending on the region/area
I don't think it is saying that i.e. specifically about regional differences. I think "plus ou moins" is just another way of saying "assez".

However, it is still "more or less", though if I am right it would just be "more or less common in France".

I can imagine myself saying "Wild primroses are more or less common in the UK" without any thoughts about their North/South distribution etc.

    Perhaps I'm odd too though.
