    Hi Everybody,

How would you translate "le vrai maître à bord" as in:

"Alors que Dmitri Medvedev, qui est entré en fonctions en mai, vient à peine de prononcer son discours annuel à la nation, l'intervention très médiatisée de Poutine fait de lui le vrai maître à bord de la maison Russie."

    My try:

" While Dmitri Medvedev, who took office in May, has just delivered his annual speech to the nation, the big media coverage for Putin’s speech makes him (Putin) the true in master of command in the House of Russia/ the true Master of the House of Russia."

    Any suggestions (or corrections)?

    Thanks in advance

A very good translation, Sonny 7, which I have very lightly recrafted as follows:

While Dmitri Medvedev, who took office in May, has just very recently delivered his annual speech to the nation, the extensive/wide media coverage of Putin’s speech makes the latter the real Master of the House of Russia.
