As the election came to an end, many people led the charge to exchange the cabinet that most people were not satisfied with.

    1. Is it weird to say "lead a charge to" ? Or is it better to say "advocate exchanging "?

    2. "Exchange" the cabinet. Is it correct?

Is the sentence originally in English or a translation? It feels like the latter.
