Lest the hair rips out

Hi there,

I have to translate a warning for a product. It's basically a little ball with rubber hair! If you pull too hard on the individual strands of rubber hair, they will snap off....

The English warning is: Do not pull too hard on the hair. Doing so may cause breakage.

Personally, I think this is badly written in the English so I have modified the French to say something along the lines of "lest the hair rips out"....

Could you say: "Ne pas tirer trop fort sur les cheveux, sans qu'ils ne se déchirent" ??

Thank you guys!
