انتحال الشخصية is already used to mean impersonate I. A criminal sense. I’m not sure it would work.I would say انتحل شخصيتي.
If you mean he impersonated you, then yes. If you mean identity theft, then it’s called سرقة هويّة.He usurped my identity on the internet to make me look like a criminal.
Character, yes. I’m not sure about personhood, I don’t recall it being used in English so I’m not sure what would work.In other/different contexts, could this word be used to mean "individuality" or "personhood" or "character"?
I can't understand the difference between سرقة هوية and انتحال شخصية (in فصحى). Until proven otherwise, to me it looks the same. What would you use for instance if someone gets arrested (i.e. for driving dangerously) and tells the police your identity instead of his? Would it be انتحال شخصية or سرقة هوية? (Of course, you get the fines ).If you mean he impersonated you, then yes. If you mean identity theft, then it’s called سرقة هويّة.
