Lightning [execution, in soccer/football context]

Hello to everyone,

In a book I am reading there is a description of a footballer who has, among his other superb qualities, "lightning execution". It strikes me as somewhat vague superlative, do you think it relates to a specific characteristic of his play? and in particular, does the "lightning" here refers to his quickness or dazzling/shining talent?

Thanks

I think that 'lightning' would refer to speed ('fast as lightning') but the 'execution' in question depends on what his outstanding merit as a player is - defender, goal scorer, expert tackler, etc.

"execution" (of a skill or movement) seems to be a buzz-word in sport these days. "Lightning" can be considered to mean "lightning fast" in this context.
