Hello, could you possibly help me to understand some expresions from the song 'Lightning Rod' by The Offspring?

"My intentions
Like a sweeter room
Only bring to me a fading light"

What's the meaning of "a sweeter room"?

And now some more:

"For all the rising and falling there's nothing to show"

"all the rising and falling" = people who rise and fall down?

But do not use too complex language while explaining so that I can understand everything.

I'll be grateful if you dispel my doubts.

    Greetings, dn88.

It's poetry. Like all lyrics, they can be interpreted in a variety of ways. That said, there are usually real-life contexts and allusions to be found also in the song or poem. Finally, the intention of the writer may not even be the most profound interpretation.

That said, I'd guess a "sweeter room" is a better state of being. The writer had good intentions but ended up in fading light. Given the next phrase, he/she may even be talking simply about life and death. "All the rising and falling" may be living and dying. After which "there's nothing to show." Or as the Bible says, "Dust we art, and unto dust shall we return."

    I'd say it's a dark song.
