Hi,
I need help.

<We decided to go out. We step outside and into the Samaritan enclave-a quiet little maze of backstreets.>

Could explain how this 'enclave' look here?
little maze of backstreets?
There are frontstreet and backstreets? What is backstreets? Back of the house?

Backstreets are smaller roads, away from the main roads. They are not heavily travelled and are often narrow. They generally just lead to homes or perhaps small, local businesses (ie a corner market).

Backstreet is in the WR dictionary, ddubug: it's just that it's there as two words, back street.

If you can't find a compound as a single word, it's always worth checking whether it's in the dictionary as a hyphenated word (back-street) or as two words.
