<look like> for personality?

hello everyone:

Can I use "look like" to describe someone's personality?

Example:

Mary looks a tad like her grandmother when it comes to personality.

    No. If you don't want to use "is" then use something like "appears to be".

    "Tad" is probably very localised slang. It would be understood in Britain, but I am not sure how widely it is known or used in the rest of the English speaking world. It is also rather an odd choice for your situation, meaning a tiny amount.

    Doesn't look like Dan but looks a tad like his old uncle, his old uncle Frank.
