Good afternoon all,

"
Wretched woman!" exclaimed Cedric. "thou hast lived to merit our hate and execration---lived to unite thyself with the vile tyrant who murdered thy nearest and dearest---with him hast thou lived to unite thyself−, and in the hands of lawless love!"
"In lawless hands, indeed, but not in those of love!" answered the hag; "love will sooner visit the regions of eternal doom, than those unhallowed vaults.---No, with that at least I cannot reproach myself--- (Ivanhoe)
What is the hag trying to say in the bold sentence above? I think the future tense is confusing me there.

Many thanks,

She's saying that there's no chance of her loving her tyrant.
Thank you Beryl, I get the overall meaning that she does not love the tyrant but she was forced to have a foul union with him from the part "in lawless hands indeed, but not in those of love!" but I still do not get what she specificallyis saying by "love will sooner visit the regions of eternal doom"
