    Yes, Mimi, if bow means a violin bow, or a bow and arrows, or a tied bow. To bow, to bend from the waist, is pronounced like the bough of a tree.

    Did you get the point about the difference in pronunciation between bow in bow tie and the bough of a tree? I'm told there are websites which speak words for you. Foolishly, I never learnt the phonetic system.

    Yes, I know "bow" is different from the rest.
