Hi there
Could you please help me out? I think author miss a word after "follow". I mean that "Lower birth rates, low juvenile survivorship, and low growth rates" come after what?

The preferred foods of snowshoe hares are willow and birch twigs. As hare density increases, the quantity of these twigs decreases, forcing the hares to feed on low-quality high-fiber food. Lower birth rates, low juvenile survivorship, and low growth rates follow, so there is a corresponding decline in hare abundance.

Reference: Sample of TOEFL Exam

Thank you in advance

"Follow" can also be used intransitively. The author hasn't left out a word. It means that lower birth rates and those other two things follow (happen as a result) after hares are forced to feed on low-quality food.

    Cross-posted.

Edit: Here's a similar thread: more to follow
