    Sorry, i'm kind of slow... what do you really mean? Do you want to mention the boogie man (like "el coco" in Spanish)? or what kind of fear you're talking about?

    I don't believe there's such thing as "o viene el coco y te comera" in English.

    Maybe somebody around here know something similar.

    You want to frighten the baby???
    I agree that a lullaby (by definition) is a song that soothes a baby or puts it to sleep, quite the opposite of a frightening song.

    However, as a child, this one did frighten me because of the images of a baby falling out of a tree (I had an overactive imagination even back then):

    "Rockabye baby in the treetops;
    when the wind blows the cradle will rock
    when the bough breaks the cradle will fall
    down will come baby cradle and all."
