This Friday 24 June for the first time New Zealanders will be celebrating Matariki, the Māori New Year, as a public holiday. Most Māori people recognise Matariki as the beginning of the calendar, a time to come together and to acknowledge past, present and future.

Matariki refers to the Pleiades, or Seven Sisters constellation.

Wishing everyone in the WR community good health in these challenging times! :)
