Wikipedia indicates that:
Use of an indefinite article implies that the speaker assumes the listener does not have to be told the identity of the referent.

Do you use an an indefinite article twice or more in a sentence if anything does not have the identity of the referent?

For example:
I am making a manual how to use a computer.
This sounds a bit strange to me, but I don't know why.
I am making a weekly report and have to write what I am doing right now for my company.
Then I came across this question.
