hello. In a movie,"silent hill", there was a girl who said " I have many names." would it be correct if she said " I have a lot of names"?

In theory the two mean the same thing.

I have a feeling that the difference will be that the girl has many alternative names, Mary Jones, Sally Smith etc. etc. and choses a different name depending on the circumstances.
A lot of names may (or may not) mean that she has a very long name, Mary Ann Maddona Sally Joanne Smith.

It is impossible to tell from the quote given, the story should unfold when she changes identity at a border, or a reference is made to her silly name elsewhere in the story.

    Hope this helps
