Many times vs. A long time ago

'Am plecat de mult timp' (excuse the lack of accents...) is 'I have been gone for a long time'. Is that correct? Compared to that, how would you translate 'I have left many times'? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Pizzakid!

You're right (even if I think that the initial Romanian sentence isn't all that correct)

"I have left many times" is "am plecat de multe ori" (but somehow it doesn't feel natural).
