Marhaba;
In a context where some instructions are given to a medical team, I read this sentence: "Massage uterus until hard".
The point is how to express the phrase "until hard".
Someone suggests that hard here = dry but I am not sure. Would you please advise.

  • The first thing that comes to mind is صَلْب and it seems to me that it’s the best one: حتى يصبح صلبا, or perhaps: حتى يتصلّب.

    You could also consider متين, but I’m not 100% confident about this one.

    I’m not sure that hard here means dry, so I doubt that جاف would work. However, while يابس generally means dry, it’s also commonly used in dialects to mean hard (for example راسه يابس) so this one might work.

    I'm having a hard time imagining how it would become dry. Is the massage from outside or inside the body?

    I'm no expert on the female reproductive system, so I don't know what they mean by "hard" here, and what the opposite would be. Also, usually massaging something softens it rather than hardening it. So I think we need to understand the context / meaning in the source better before we can translate it into Arabic.

    It’s the first time for me hearing about massaging the uterus, so I did some googling. I didn’t find sufficient information but one of search results included the word I was goin to suggest الانقباض. I’m still not sure I understand this correctly but what I understood (and I may be wrong) is that the idea of this massage is to help the uterus get back to its shape after having given birth and help the muscle to harden back to its previous صلابة (another word used in this page)
