    Yes and no...
    "Thanks for keeping me informed" sounds perfect, but careful, if it's at the end of the letter it is much better to say "please keep me informed"

    If it's at the end of an email, then yes:

    Please keep me informed
    Please keep me updated
    Please let me know of any progress/development
    etc.

    I agree. "Thanks for keeping me informed", to me, is more like "merci de m'avoir tenu informé" (thanking someone for something they have already done).
