There is a sentence which is hard to understand from my point of view:
" A man who fell in love with the delta blues of Blind Willie MCtell and saw a career for himself along the lines of guitarist Ry Cooder found himself instead bracketed for his vocals alongside Dire Straits and Phil Collins, following the early success of his early single FOOL (IF YOU THINK IT"S OVER)!
I don't understand what the sentence means , especially from "saw a career for .....vocals"!

To understand this you have to understand what the other musical styles referred to actually signify. It means he thought he would have a career using skills in a certain style (Ry Cooder's), but was channelled into a different style (akin to Dire Straits and Phil Collins) after his success with his single.

Before this sentence : " While just about every musician can reel off a list of complaints about their label, Rea's label relationships have led him to be trapped in what he terms "this horrible executive rock thing" for 25 years.
