Can possesives such as mon, ma, ta, ton be used as affectionate terms by themselves?
Of course, we can say "ma petite" ou "mon cher"...
but is "mon louis" ou "mon alexandre" etc ever used?
Could I, for example, sign an email "ta sarah"??

merci en avance!

You could. It means you really like (love, more probably) the persone you're writing to.
"Mon Raoul" is a bit... possessive (?), whereas "Ton Etienne" is rather cute.
I don't think I ever said "Mon [name erased to protect privacy]". It could be a bit derogatory. But I did write "Ta Marion".

thank you sooo much! I've never used it as I was afraid of the condescending factor... because whereas I wouldn't hesitate to say "my ____" in english, its cutesy, I didn't know about the French.

    Merci mille fois!
