Hello hope you can help me to translate the pahrase:

"comprising sequences of the monomers guluronic and mannuronic acid, alignates are referred as either high G or high M alginates"

    The term "monomer" (a chemical compound that can undergo polymerization) is a back formation from "polymer" (a chemical compound or mixture of compounds formed by polymerization and consisting essentially of repeating structural units).

    Although the term is not in the DRAE, I got 156,000 hits for "monómero" on Google, so I would guess that this is the accepted term. See here for more information.

    alignates estan compuestos de secuencias de los monómeros ...

    Creo que "alignates" no cambia.

    Alignates = alignatos.

    formados por secuencias de los monómeros ácido gulurónico y ácido manurónico, los alignatos son mencionados como alignatos de alto G o alto M.
