Hi all!

Imagine I have a list of transactions from company's accounting records. I have to select some of them for further testing. How would it be correct to say:

1) We selected transactions with amounts greater than USD 100,000
2) We selected transactions with amounts more than USD 100,000
3) We selected transactions with amounts larger than USD 100,000
4) We selected transactions over USD 100,000
5) Any other options?

And one more question relating to this situation: In this particular case shall I say "selected" or "chose"?

You could also say "exceeding" but all of your options would be acceptable. As for the difference between "selected" and "chose", there really isn't one in this context although I like "selected" better.

You could use all three but "greater" is rather formal-sounding and "larger" isn't often used in this context. By far the majority of native-English-speakers, in casual conversation would use "more".
