Chandler: Woah, woah, I've put on a little weight?

Phoebe: No, not wieght... y'know, more like insulation.

What does phoebe mean?

I guess she means Chandler's fat helps his insulation. I think it's a kind of metaphor.

Is my guessing right? If it is, is it native speaker's euphemism to express someone's fat' as insulation or it's just her own expression?

Thanks in advance.

It's not so much a metaphor as just a light-hearted joke by Phoebe. She's calling his extra weight insulation rather than what it is, extra weight. It's a euphemism I've heard used before. Extra weight around the waist is often called a "spare tyre".
