motion vs movement

I don't have any particular context but I was wondering what is the intrinsic difference between motion and movement, or if you prefer in which context one is more relevant than the other ?

thanks by advance for your lights

The difference is very fine. I would say that movement is déplacement d'un lieu à un autre, whereas motion is le fait de ne pas rester immobile. But usage and context are crucial.

(PS: my lights = mes phares; mes poumons.)

thanks ! this is very interesting to me!!! was thinking about it in respect to materials that can change shapes and i guess now motion is more appropriate
