Music is sound and silence organized in time.

Hi,
Is it correct to understand the above as "Music is the organization of sound and silence through time?"
Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks in advance.

    Hello arueng,

I much prefer the original version. Time is the setting, the context. Sounds and silences are arranged, organized, in that setting. Your modification creates a sense of dynamism or movement. This is not the same thing as the spatial relationship suggested by organized in time.

Does the "in time" of the original sentence mean "not after an specific time" (I'm referring to the "in time/on time" difference, a very popular question among students).
