Are any of the words for "mustache," "beard," and "goatee" related in any languages?

In Palestinian Arabic, as in English, they're totally unrelated to each other:

mustache: شوارب /ʃawa:reb/ or شنب /ʃanab/
beard: لحية /liħje/ or دقن /daʔen/ (literally, "chin")
goatee: سكسوكة /saksu:ke/

  • Russian:
    mustache - усы [ʊ'sɨ]
    beard - борода [bəɾɐ'da]
    goatee - бородка [bɐ'ɾɔtkə] "little.beard", маленькая бородка ~['malʲɪnʲkəə̟bɐ'ɾɔtkə] "little little.beard", козлиная бородка ~[kɐ'zlʲinəə̟bɐ'ɾɔtkə] "goat little.beard", эспаньолка [ɪspɐnʲ'jɔɫkə] "Espagnoler".

    Greek:

    Moustache: «Μουστάκι» [muˈs̠t̠aci] (neut.) < Byzantine Greek neuter diminutive «Μυστάκι(ο)ν» /myˈstaki(o)n/ < Classical 3rd declension masc. noun «μύσταξ» /ˈmystɐk͡s/ (nom. sing.), «μύστακος» /ˈmystɐkos/ (gen. sing.) --> moustache, upper lip which is the 3rd declension fem. noun «μάσταξ» /ˈmɐstɐk͡s/ (nom. sing.), «μάστακος» /ˈmɐstɐkos/ (gen. sing.) --> mouth, mouthful, morsel (of unknown etymology, possibly a substrate word), contaminated with the 3rd declension masc. noun «βύσταξ» /ˈbystɐk͡s/ (nom. sing.), «βύστακος» /ˈbystɐkos/ (gen. sing.) --> moustache, also, chin, beard (a Pre-Greek word).

    Beard: (1) «Μούσι» [ˈmus̠i] (neut.) < Fr. mouche (narrow beard descending from lower lip); (2) «γένι» [ˈʝe̞ni] (neut.) often in plural «γένια» [ˈʝe̞ɲa] (neut.) < Byz.Gr. neuter noun «γένιν» /ˈgenin/ < Koine neuter noun «γένειον» /ˈgeneːon/ a simpler variant of the Classical 3rd declension feminine noun «γένυς» /ˈgenys/ (nom. sing.), «γένυος» /ˈgenyos/ (gen. sing.) --> chin, beard, edge of an axe (PIE *ǵenus- chin).
    (1) & (2) are used equally and interchangeably.

    Goatee: «Υπογένειο» [ipo̞ˈʝe̞ni.o̞] (neut.) < Byzantine Gr. neuter noun «ὑπογένειον» /ypoˈgenion/ --> under-beard, sub-beard, a compound: prefix & preposition «ὑπό» /yˈpo/ < Classical preposition «ὑπό» /hyˈpo/ + Koine neuter noun «γένειον» /ˈgeneːon/ (see earlier).

    Catalan

    moustache:
    - mostatxo (or in the plural, mostatxos) [mus'taʧu] (< Italian mostaccio (a Renaissance loanword), from Vulgar Latin mustaceum, from Byzantine Greek moustakion, diminutive of Ancient Greek mystaks 'upper lip')
    - bigoti or bigot (or in the plural, bigotis, bigots) [bi'ɣɔt(i)] (< 17th-century Spanish bigote, perhaps from the German bei Gott)

    beard:
    - barba ['baɾβə] (< Latin barba, from a Proto-Italic farβa, presumably from the PIE root for beard)

    goatee:
    - masclet [məs'klεt] (< diminutive of mascle 'male')
    - pera ['pεɾə] (< pera 'pear')

    Mustache = baffi (pl.)
    Beard = barba
    Goatee = pizzetto, dim. of pizzo, from a Germanic language, maybe Lombard, meaning "pointed", cfr. German "Spitze".

    I'll let aside goatee. There are many languages that have a single word valid for both mustache and beard: Japanese (ひげ ), Chinese (鬍鬚)*, Korean (수염), Tausug (pungut), Nivkh (аф or its synonym ыф), Dzongkha (རྒྱབོ), Karao, (some dialects of) Kalinga and Eastern Bontoc (iming), Danish (skæg), Oromo (areeda), Navajo (adághaaʼ)...

    * Depending on the dialect, other words may be used. For example, Hakka Chinese makes use of 鬚菇.

    I agree. And for "goatee", I also know "Ziegenbart" (goat's beard).

    mustache - brkovi
    beard - brada
    goatee - bradica (litttle beard), kozja brada (goat's beard) or kozja bradica (goat's little beard)
