I read the following sentence somewhere:
1-My father works in a bank which is near my house.
but I think it is better to say it:
2-My father works in the bank which is near my house.
I think both of them are right, but the second one is better,What do you think?

It is hard to say which version is better without some context for that sentence, abo.omar. If the speaker has not mentioned the bank before or there is more than one bank that is near the speaker's house, a bank sounds perfectly normal in that sentence.

The first is what one would say in general. You would say the second if there are several banks at which your father could work, but only one of them is near your house, and your listener knows which bank that is.
