Myriad uses

I have heard "myriad stars" and "myriads of stars". I remember the first meant just a big number of stars but the second meant "tens of thousands of stars".

For some reason both of luckynumba's examples sound strange to me. Maybe found things are just not nebulous enough or something. :)

Thanks, Panjandrum; hope my english teacher doesn't correct me, considering I came to this forum :) [even if she said the correct use was "a myriad of"]
