Per esempio:

He used to go to De Bono School, which was named after Emilio De Bono ....

Frequentava la scuola media De Bono, la quale e' stata chiamata come Emilio De Bono, un militare e un uomo politico italiano.

    If you're speaking about a person, then your translation is good.
    Ex:
    The baby was named John after his grandfather.
    Il bambino è stato chiamato John come suo nonno.

    To add to dani's suggestions:

    to name after = battezzare/chiamare in onore di qc

    can also be a good translation, in some cases. I would get rid of both articles near the end. It sounds better without.
