Hi, what are the names of the fingers in french?
In English we have the Thumb, the Pointer finger, the Middle Finger, the Ring Finger, and the Pinky. Are there equivalents in French?

Le Pouce, L'index, le majeur, l'annulaire et l'auriculaire.

Really not sure about the spelling of the last 2...

Here we would say 'index', not 'pointer'.

    Hello all,
I think "pinky" must be an AmE term too ; we would simply say "little finger" (for l'auriculaire) over this side of the Atlantic.

The use of "pointer" and "pinky" is not so much a matter of geography as of personal preference. Although both words are used here, so are "index" and "little finger", and much more commonly.

Merci/thank you for the responces. All of y'all from England should start using pinky, it's way cute. And we say index finger too but so does pointer, which is really what u do with the finger anyway.
