I am looking for the English translation of the following Flaubert quote:

"Ne cherons donc que la tranquilite, ne demandons a la vie qu'un fauteuil et non des trones, que de la satisfaction et non de l'ivresse."

It is described in an academic paper as teaching the artist what to expect of life, but there is no direct translation.

Let us cherish naught but tranquility, let us ask only a comfortable chair of life, and not a throne, only contentment and not intoxication.

I have a doubt about "cherons"
the imperative of "chérir" would be "chérissons", not cherons
cherons may be a mispelling of "cherchons"
