Sarah Rayner writes in her 'One Moment, One Morning':

Never mind sightseeing, she plans to go shopping.

I have read rather many threads of 'never mind' but I cannot understand what 'never mind' means in the fhrase. Does that mean 'she plans to go shopping, let alone sightseeing' or 'she does not care of sightseeing, she plans to go shopping'? Could you help?

It means "Forget about sightseeing (which she has no intention of doing), she plans to go shopping."
