Hello all - I just wandered in. A local restaurant manager wants to have a big Italian New Year's party, and asked asked me to find out how to advertise the party in Italian. So, how do you say an "Italian New Year's Eve Celebration?" Thanks!
Restaurants usually invite people to a big dinner called "Cenone di Capodanno" or "Cenone di S. Silvestro". Saint Silvester (San Silvestro in Italian) is the saint celebrated on December 31st. Will you print leaflets? In that case, please let us know what you would like to write in them!
Hi there "Serata Italiana" or "Serata all'Italiana" is another quick way of describing it ... usually if the happening it's a bit formal like a dinner in a 5 star hotel or so on but if you like it you can use it too! Are they serving everything absolutely Italian from antipasto to spaghetti and Tiramisu' maybe a bit of Limoncello to digest it all or some cheap but very appreviated Asti spumante our local Champagne??
"Serata all'Italiana" makes me think of some fake Italian party abroad... nevertheless they're not inviting native Italians, so I guess it doesn't matter, does it?
