No discussion or no discussions?

I just heard a news presenter say" There have been no hearings, no amendments, and no discussion".

Why did he make "discussion" singular? From what I understand, you normally use plural nouns after no, if the nouns are countable. Discussion is most definately countable.

I used google ngram to compare "no discussion" and "no discussions" and the former is a lot more common. Why is that?

I really have problems with singular and plural nouns.
