    All of these are correct usage:

    We do things our way no matter what
    We do things our way regardless

    We do things our way no matter what the consequences [are]
    We do things our way whatever the consequences [are]
    We do things our way regardless of the consequences​

    It’s a noun (you can’t put “no” before a verb to make it negative). It represents an issue or problem, as in “What’s the matter?”.
