Norwegian: dishtowel

Senior Member

How would you say "dishtowel" in Norwegian? It is a noun meaning a towel one can use to make clean dish dry. It appears in kitchen.

Here is a picture.

Thank you.

To make the list complete, there's "kopptue", which actually gets more Google hits than "oppvaskhåndkle". And also, the mixed and maybe more unusual "kopphåndkle".

I think "kjøkkenhåndkle" might be the best term for a general translation. I don't use it, but it's universally understood and it's what the online shops seem to use.

Oh, and a lot of people call it "oppvaskklut", but that could be confusing to people from places where they actually use dishcloths.
