Hi

I study Norwegian by myself for a year.

I still have a lot of doubts and I discovered the forum a short time ago.

In this sentence: Julie finner en colaboks i minibaren og legger mon på senga mens Maria finner fram den bærbare PCen sin.

What is the function of "finner fram"? Why not just use "finne"? is there a rule or way to know when i should use "finne fram"?

Takk skal du ha

Hi Anderson, and welcome to the forum!

Maria finner fram den bærbare PCen sin - Maria takes out her laptop (from her bag, from a shelf, or wherever she has stored it).

Maria finner den bærbare PCen sin - Maria finds her laptop (which she had lost previously).

    Mange takk,

And in this sentence what is the function of "finne fram":

Ken drar til kjøpesenteret Merkur for å kjøpe ny mobiltelefon. Der finner han også mange billige CD-er. Etterpå går Ken til Solsiden. Det er litt vanskelig å finne fram, men han treffer en gammel mann på veien.

    På forhånd tusen takk
