What is the difference (if any) between «invitasjon» and «innbydelse»?
I don't think there are any substantial differences. "Invitasjon" is a loan word, while "innbydelse" is the Norwegian version, but the "-else" ending may make "innbydelse" sound slightly conservative. Nynorsk Norwegian only accepts "invitasjon".
Nynorsk has also a native alternative: "innbyding".
OK thank you both for your helpful answers!
