Not only does it not..., it also doesn't...

Hello to all,

Thanks for reading my post.

Context:

John has just bought a new cell phone. He tries calling Bill but he can't make a call. John's friend Chris says the sentence below to John.

Sample sentence:

Not only does it not work properly, it also doesn't look like a modern cell phone.

Question:

Do the bolded parts work in the sample sentence?

Thanks a lot for any comments, corrections or suggestions!

Regards,
JJXR

Thanks for your responses, SwissPete and velisarius.

I'm a little bit confused. Are these both correct:

    1. Not only does it not work properly, it also doesn't look like a modern cell phone.

    2. Not only does it not work properly, it doesn't look like a modern cell phone either.

By the way, is the following accepted?

'..., but it doesn't look like a modern cell phone.'
